Greeting, Stop by Fuel Doc located at 2341 N. Raleigh St, Rocky Mount NC. Purchase a pack of cigarette for my wife. Walk out to the car. My wife wanted your special Marboro offer of buy one get one free menthol. Return back inside store and was told I could not return/exchange unopen pack of cigarette for the Marboro. The Clerk said it was this store policy of no return of cigarette after you walk out the door. Why is that? The clerk was unwilling to refund my money for the cigarettes. I was not given a receipt for my purchase of the cigarette, My wife came into the store to see what was going on we both were embrass to be standing inside Fuel Doc arguring over $4.00 while other customers were trying not to get involve with this nosense. If this is a store policy then it should be posted/ marked so the public can see it before a purchase is made for these unreturnable items. The Fuel Doc clerk could've been more courtesy than she did. She even told me that I could leave the cigarette their until tomorrow and could come in a speak to the manager. What is the Fuel Doc policy for return of cigarette that are unopen? What if the clerk gives you the brand or the wrong size/type without you or the clerk realizing the error before the customer walks out the door. Does this mean the customer has to be dissatified and accept a purchase product that he or she doesn't want? This clerk gave us the impression that we has one or two choices. Either we accept what we don't need or want or we could just leave. My family and friends visit this Fuel Doc often because it is in our neighborhood. This matter has left myself and my wife with a pale impression of the Fuel Doc and how they treat certain customers. Time: Visted around 6:00-6:30PM Monday 19, 2009 (Janet/Shelly) were not their so we could not talk directly to a manger. The Store clerk that gave Myself and my wife a hard time was Kelly Linch. Her customer service skill need a bit improvement. She did act very professional and was not hospitable or friendily. Ms. Linch explain that she was just following orders and that it was a ATFrule as well as a store policy not to accept return cigarettes from a customer after they've left the store. I'm not sure if this policy promotes good or fair customer satisfaction without a disclaimer clearly posted? Please reply thanks.
